A House Once a Home

A family stood outside their once home
Watching their belongings hit the stone.
Wondering if this was real
and how they ever were going to heal

Passerby watched on,
As their neighbors stuff hit the lawn.
Pictures, books, and beds
sat along with others spread.

In her childhood bedroom sat a girl
where she would no longer get to twirl.
Breaking down she finally cried
"It's just a house" she tried to lie.

Her friend showed up to help
to try to calm her small yelps.
She was rushed to pack
to put all her life into small sacks.

Her tear stained face as she left
never again to the place she slept.
Her childhood home forever left behind
and towards the new life she was hoping to find.
